vascularised bone graft (VBG)

Polski: unaczyniony przeszczep kostny Czytaj po polsku →

Vascularised bone graft preserves osteocyte viability and osteoinductive capacity at implantation. In scaphoid reconstruction, VBG options include the pedicled 1,2-ICSRA flap from the dorsal distal radius and free flaps from the medial femoral condyle (MFC) or trochlea (MFT). Recent meta-analyses confirm higher union rates than non-vascularised graft in proximal pole AVN and revision cases.
