Contact

This page sets out how to make contact for patient enquiries, and for professional and academic correspondence. Practice arrangements and referral pathways are described in the sections below.

§ 01

Current practice

Current clinical practice is at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand. The role covers operative care for the hand and upper extremity, microsurgical reconstruction, and the surgical management of melanoma and complex skin cancer through the Melanoma and High-Risk Skin Cancer MDT.

Patient care within the New Zealand public system is referral-based. New patient appointments are arranged through the regional service following GP referral, not directly through this website.

§ 02

For patients in New Zealand

If you are seeking surgical care for a hand or upper-limb condition, a soft-tissue reconstruction, or a skin-cancer concern, the appropriate first step is to see your general practitioner. The GP can then refer you into the regional hand surgery and plastic surgery service, where referrals are triaged and appointments arranged through the public system.

For acute hand injuries — including suspected scaphoid fractures, tendon injuries, or significant lacerations — the appropriate pathway is the local emergency department, which arranges hand-team review where indicated. Urgent presentations are not handled through this website. In a medical emergency in New Zealand call 111; in Poland and the European Union call 112.

Private referrals follow the same first step: discuss the concern with your GP, who can direct the referral as appropriate.

§ 03

Professional and academic enquiries

Correspondence from peer clinicians, researchers, journal editors, conference organisers, and academic collaborators is handled through the form below or by email at office@drgladysz.com.

Patient information enquiries from outside New Zealand — including general questions about a planned consultation or a published article — can also be sent through the same form. Specific clinical advice is not provided by email; the form is for correspondence and orientation, not consultation.

§ 04

Send enquiry

The form sends correspondence to office@drgladysz.com. Replies are sent from the same address. Specific clinical advice is not provided by email.

§ 05

How form data is handled

Data submitted through the form is processed for the sole purpose of replying to the enquiry. The data controller is Mateusz Gładysz. The processing is based on consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (RODO) for visitors in the European Union, and on the legitimate purpose of correspondence under the Privacy Act 2020 for visitors in New Zealand. Submissions are retained for the duration of the correspondence and for a reasonable period afterwards. The full Privacy Policy describes data subject rights and how to exercise them.
