Inne nazwy navicular bone os scaphoideum
The scaphoid is the most frequently fractured carpal bone. It bridges the proximal and distal carpal rows and is critical for normal carpal kinematics. The dorsal ridge of the scaphoid receives the dominant blood supply from branches of the radial artery, with retrograde flow into the proximal pole — an anatomical arrangement that explains the high rate of avascular necrosis after waist and proximal pole fractures.
