Ulnar fovea sign
Also known as fovea sign
Tenderness on pressing the examiner's thumb into the soft spot between the ulnar styloid and flexor carpi ulnaris that reproduces the patient's pain. In Tay and Berger's arthroscopic series it was 95 per cent sensitive and 87 per cent specific for foveal disruption of the radioulnar ligaments or an ulnotriquetral ligament injury; the two are separated clinically by the stability of the distal radioulnar joint.
