PIP joint replacement (arthroplasty)

Also known as PIP arthroplastyfinger middle-joint replacement

An operation that replaces a worn PIP joint (the middle joint of a finger) with an implant. The two main types are a one-piece flexible silicone implant and a two-part surface replacement that replaces the ends of both bones forming the joint.
