four-corner fusion

Also known as scaphoidectomy and four-corner arthrodesis
Four-corner fusion is an alternative to proximal row carpectomy for SNAC wrist stages II–III, particularly when the proximal capitate cartilage is compromised. It preserves the radiolunate joint as the sole motion segment and yields more durable function in younger high-demand patients at the cost of greater range-of-motion reduction. Hardware complications and non-union of the fusion mass are recognised concerns.
