History.

It’s frustrating when your hand stops performing its daily functions, isn’t it?
Holding objects becomes a challenge, because instead of feeling it, you feel the pain.

There is a way to do it. Surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, also known as nerve decompression. With decompression, the pressure on the median nerve is reduced and symptoms subside.

With the help of a surgeon, you can break the cycle of discomfort and enjoy a return to full functionality of your hand.

FAQ – Patients often ask about this.

Does nerve decompression surgery produce permanent results?

Yes. Cases of carpal tunnel syndrome returning after surgery are rare. They are usually associated with incomplete release of the nerve and recurrence of the causes of the discomfort, i.e. Excessive exertion, swelling or inflammation.

When is the treatment necessary?

Carpal tunnel surgery is necessary, especially when non-invasive treatment methods have proved ineffective.

How long does it take to recover from surgery?

Recovery takes several weeks to several months. This time depends on the individual case and whether the patient follows the surgeon’s instructions. Many patients experience relief from pain immediately after surgery.

What are the possible complications?

Complications that can occur as a result of nerve decompression surgery include bleeding, infection, nerve damage, blood vessels, loss of sensation, chronic pain or only partial improvement of symptoms due to incomplete release of the nerve. An experienced surgeon is able to minimize the risk of complications to a minimum.

How to prepare for the procedure?

During the consultation, the surgeon always gives detailed recommendations. Among the most important are: being informed about medications and dietary supplements you are taking, quitting smoking a minimum of four weeks before the scheduled procedure, and avoiding taking medications that thin the blood – this should always be consulted with your doctor.
